Course Description:
Required for the Computer Science endorsement. Will prepare you to teach computer science in Elementary/Middle schools.

Course Objectives:
Instruction and practice will focus on:
· Use of Microsoft Office Applications
· Integration of technology into the elementary school curriculum
· Using web-based resources
· Sharing of ideas for student projects
Course Methods and Procedures:
Students will be guided through a variety of hands-on activities that will give them the skills necessary to design lesson plans using a variety of Microsoft applications.

Evaluation/Outside
Project:
Students will be evaluated on participation and completion of the in-class practice assignments. Twelve hours of additional practice and an outside project are required. The student with the approval of the Instructor will select the content of the project. It should include 12 hours of combined practice and project, and must be submitted by disk or e-mail within 1 week of completion of course. A rubric for evaluation of the project will be provided to the participants during class.
