Syllabus for Photoshop Elements II

Course Description: 

Advanced uses of Adobe Photoshop Elements including digital images to create student projects. No prerequisite though Photoshop Elements I is recommended.

Course Objectives: 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

·        Design and create digital images support his/her teaching responsibilities.

·        Design graphics, posters and digital images to be used in his/her classroom.

·        Teach students how to use Adobe Photoshop with various projects.

 

Course Methods and Procedures: 

Students will be guided through a variety of hands-on activities that will give them the skills necessary to use Adobe Photoshop Elements to work with digital photographs. 

 

Course Outline:

  • Review of Photoshop 1
  • Download and save pictures from the internet
  • Upload images to computer
  • Use Adobe tutorials to create dramatic photos
  • Resizing cropping and laying out images
  • Transforming and distorting images
  • Applying filters, effects and layer styles
  • Color correction and management
  • Using paint tools
  • Sharing of ideas for student projects
  • Insert photos into Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Share ideas for student projects

 

Evaluation/Outside Project:

Students will be graded on completion of all in-class practice activities and completion of 7 hours out of class practice activities. The outside project is a requirement described on page 7 of the Ottawa University catalog.
