Description:

 

Students will learn the skills necessary to utilize the Windows operating system and Windows based software programs. May be taken for one, two or three credits. An additional project will be required to earn three credits

Course Objectives:

 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

§         Use the Windows operating system.

§         Have knowledge of the add-in programs that are included with Windows.

§        Create folders, find, copy, and move and delete files.

 

 

Course Methods and Procedures:

 

 

Participants will be guided through a series of hands-on activities designed to give them the skills necessary to use the components of Windows.

 

 

Evaluation

 

 

Students will be evaluated on participation, completion of in-class practice assignments, and an outside project using Windows, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. It should include 15 hours of combined practice and project, and must be submitted by disk or e-mail within 5 days of completion of course. The outside project is a requirement described on page 7 of the Ottawa University catalog.
